Scrollbar using external text file and CSS

I have a dynamic text box that imports a file that uses CSS.  I have been working on putting together a scrollbar.  I can scroll my text fine with my buttons, but my scrollbar's yscale will not change size when the text is loaded.  Does anyone have some experience on this?  The ActionScript code I have been referencing can be found at http://www.actionscript.org/tutorials/intermediate/scrolling_a_text_box_II/index.shtml .  I would appreciate any advice.

Are you using the scrollbar component? If not, give that a try

I am not using the scrollbar component.  I wanted to try to make my own, but I obviously ran into some problems.  It seems I'm too far now to go back and use the scrollbar component.
