Asked by: mayaworker

We are use JPG in Flash and
We're not sure why there are differences between a 42" widescreen 1024x768 or a 42" widescreen that's 853x480 or another 42" that's 1366x768???

Yes the difference is resolution.......

If you are runnning off a pc platform you should beable to adjust the screen resolution to suit your needs......this is from my past experience with widescreen.

Hope this helps. :0))

Da squire,

Thank you for the answer that is help.
Usually, client don’t know what is their TV setting, I need to help them to set it up in Flash.
They only know they have 42” TV.
So, if I need to do a Flash project for 42” TV, could you give me an idea about the resolution you did?
Other question is, I don’t know how to adjust PC screen to 42” TV screen setting?

Thanks for your help

well i had the screen in my office so it made life alot easier. What i did iis had it running off a pc as a normal screen and had the resolution set to 1024x768 and it worked great.

Try to find out what the movie will be playing off? Are they using PC or some other media?

If Pc ask them to set it to 1024x768 and see if the screen looks odd....if not then you are good to go....try these steps with all the resolutions until yo find one that suites your needs.

If I understand correctly you need to know the resolution of the TV for output?
There are ways of detecting the resolution, javascript if it's in a browser, and if it's stand-alone you should find some useful OS integration functions if you compile the SWF to a EXE using SWF Studio by NorthCode, http://www.northcode.com

Hi All,

I was study the resolution issue for a long time.
And I have some info need to share:

1. There are at least two resolutions on 42" TV for EDTV and HDTV, 854x480 and 1024x768 dot

2. So, if I need to create a project on Flash I need to know what TV my client used.

3. And yet, if client use HDTV (1024x768), I still need to test on it, which is because each TV has different Fix-pixel display. If I draw a circle on Flash, that may show an oval on 42" TV; it's not what I need.

4. After find out how the client's TV display, I need to adjust how many percentage I need to stretch.

Seems da_squire is most close my need.

Thank you all for help
