embedded video compression in flash
We are embedding mpg videos in flash 8. The quality of the video deteriorates and file size is also too much. We cannot try loading flvs externally as we need to simultaneously animate other objects on the stage. So pls give the best possible solution for best quality and minimum size. Thank you.

What are the dimensions of the video?
Can you use a preloader to keep the user amused while you "buffer" some of the video?
Also, video compression works by only saving the data that has actually changed from one frame to the next, so videos with not much movement will compress better than videos with lots of movement. Flat colours also tend to compress better than gradients.
Don't embed an alpha channel if can help it - this will also save a little bandwidth.
