I have a dynamically generated menu (thanks to the help of cyanblue) that loads a movie clip once the user clicks on a menu item. I am looking to extend this menu so that I can pass parameters to the movie clip. My menu gets created as follows:

Yes, the project_page pulls info from an ASP page which will take the projectid parameter and use it to query the database. I have the project_page working correctly by itself. My problem is I can't seem to get the movie to load. It keeps throwing an error when I add in the parameter. I have access to all pages. Thanks.
Well... It sounds like it is abit more complicated and it could create a conflict on the variable...
Here is what I'd do...
In the frame 1 of the project_page.fla file, I'll add this action...
if (_global.projectid.length > 1)
{
gotoAndPlay(_global.projec
}
and in the main file, I'd change that onPress handler like this...
_root.contentMC["portmenuM
{
_global.projectid = "xxx"; // or whatever value you want to trigger the action...
_root.loadMovie(this.id);
}
See if you can use that sort of logic... ;)

Does the project_page.swf file contain a mechanism to accept the projectid variable and do whatever is necessary??? Or do you have to build such function??? Do you have an access to the project_page.fla file???
