Saving Dynamic movie as a jpg

I have SWF that allows users to move blocks around I would then like to offer the user the ability save the final image mypicture.jpg.  There are few examples on the web that use PHP etc these seem to have been written back in 2006 what I would like to know is there a newer version or a better way of doing this, still using AS2.0 with Flash 8?
