Flash loads images in IE but sparatically in FireFox

I'm developing an image intensive website where my flash movie loads images from a database through a php script. The site works well in IE but Firefox it seems to stop loading images half way through. I've checked that flash is sending the correct headers, and the images load when I paste the URL directly in FireFox address bar.

I'm not sure if the images ARE 1.) getting loading but just aren't displaying or 2.)if they are not getting loaded at all. I'm also confused as to why IE works and Firefox doesn't since its a plugin. I don't think its a memory issue because I've reduced the amount of images loaded drastically.

I can't help but think that its a browser to server issue because all the image loading mechanisms I use work for some images. But I'm open to any ideas or techniques to find out what is the problem.
