Asked by BDL in Adobe Flash, ActionScript
Running Mac OS, with a Firewire video camera attached. Using getCamera() Video(), and attachCamera() I want to grab a video frame and display it. I have to refer to the camera by its index number (getCamera("2")) as it is not the default camera, but this seems to work fine with SWFs.
The problem is that Flash Player asks permission to access the camera, and I want to avoid this dialog box. AIR files do NOT ask permission, but fail to show any video frame. The (sparse) Adobe documentation suggests that AIR iles have no problem with getCamera(), and do not ask permission, but I'm kind of stuck. Any suggestions?
