asked on
developing iOS app using Adobe Flash Builder 4.5
Hi experts,
I'm trying to build a ios app for iphone using Adobe Flash Builder 4.5.
I'm using a pc running Windows 7 pc with Adobe Flash Builder 4.5
Here is the situation:
I open Flash Builder 4.5
First, I Create a new Flex Mobile Project by choosing File¿New¿Flex Mobile Project
After I type in my Project Name and then click Next I'm in the Mobile Settings window.
I'm following the instructions in a book I'm reading.
In the Mobile Settings window I'm supposed to choose my target platform:
Either Apple iOS, Blackberry Tablet OS or Google Android.
But my Mobile settings window looks like this:
As you can see, the only choice I have is Google Android.
But the picture in the book looks like this:
Do any of you know why I'm not getting all 3 choices for the target platform?
Do I need to install a plugin for ios and Blackberry Tablet OS??
or
Does creating an ios or blackberry app with Flash Builder only work with Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 for Mac?
I saw this article:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/mobileapps/WS064a3073e805330f6c6abf312e7545f65e-8000.html
But it doesn't mention if I should be doing it on the Mac or PC version of Flash Builder 4.5
Thanks experts.

Oppsss.. my mistake, I though it is like Corona SDK which works on iOS when it is runs on Mac only.
http://blogs.adobe.com/flex/2011/06/flex-sdk-and-flash-builder-updates-available-adds-ios-and-blackberry-playbook-support.html
You need SDK for BB. For iOS I yet trying to update from 4.5 to 4.5.1 as I having same problem with yours.

Thanks experts. I finally figured it out.
I had Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 installed.
On the Adobe Website they have a download called Flash Builder 4.5 Updater.
They have 2 versions of it. One for PC and one for Mac.
I downloaded the pc version. After I downloaded it I installed it.
What this download does is updated Flash Builder 4.5 to Flash Builder 4.5.1.
This update adds support for iOS and Blackerry Tablet OS.
Thanks.

You need to run Flash Builder on Mac not on your pc to get the option for IOS
