The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

I need a spiral!!!

Asked by efortier in Web Graphics Software

Everybody has seen it. It was everywhere a few years back. You know, the black and white hypnotic spiral. Well, I need one for one of my videos. But:

1- i can't seem to generate a nice one with my programming.
2- I really can't draw. But I mean really!
3- I couldn't find one anywhere.

I've been looking everywhere. Bookstore, internet. I've even been to a doctor that uses one of those spirals, but they don't give the effect I want. So in clear, here is what I need.

I need a spiral that start at the outside and shrink in COUNTER CLOCKWISE. This is very important. Also, I need the center branches of the spiral to be thinner than the outside branches. the black and white (or whatever, color is not important) branch of the spiral must be THE SAME WIDTH. When rotated CLICKWISE, you MUST have a weird feeling of "going in" and not "goint out" of the spiral.

at: http://pages.infinit.net/tlc/image/spiral.gif is one which I made a few days ago, but it's no good because:

The size of the blue and red branches don't shrink as they get to the center

There is too much staircasing on the pixels (needs antialiasing)

Does not provide with the sensation of going in, not really anyway.

To sum this up:

the image must be circular, and not be an ellipse. It must be a perfect round.

There must be only 2 branches. and they must be of same width.

They must start at the outside and go in COUNTER CLOCKWISE, so that when rotated CLOCKWISE they provide a "going in" feeling.

The branches of the spiral must start BIG at the ouside and get SMALL at the inside.

I would LOVE to know of a Plugin for photoshop that would be a spiral maker.

Since this is not Dreamland, I will accept images in any format.

I don't have much points left, and I will give them all to whomever can find me what I need.

Thanks!
