Now days sonversions such as these are as simple as opening the file in any of the photo imagin software such as paint shop pro or photoshop then do a save as and choose that format. In photoshop it's a bit more tricky as you need tohave the right level of color sampling set before oyu do save as. In paint shop pro you just say save as click psd format and it tells you if you need to increase or decrease resolution. then you say yes to let it do the work and it saves the file in the format you want.
If you would like the paint shop pro program. Go to http://www.jasc.com and download the demo version it's full blown so you are not limited as to what to do. but there is a time limit on the program.
