Not much to tutorialize. Its straight forward 3D animation exported to NTSC or PAL video. There arent any cookie cutter plugins or such for what you want to do because its just basic animation.

yeah i know this one ;-)
or lets say, i dont know :-)
cause i am new in working with 3d max and toolz like that.
I need a tutorial, or a "ready"-made file.
This intro will be for my fathers 49 birthday! (he has birthday, today!) lol

by: weedPosted on 2001-04-13 at 18:40:29ID: 6007846

Dont think yer gonna find one. People go to 4 year colleges to learn 3D animation. Youre not going to pick it up in a tutorial and bust something out for tomorrow.

mmhh... well.
Seems as you are right, but i saw one intro like this (not from 20th century fox, but from a hacker) and thought, or hoped that i might find his intro somewhere on the web.
Well thank you at all.
Do u want the points?

go to http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/tut3ds.asp there are tutorials for 3DS Max (starting from exercises in Basics).
Here you will find some links (tried to look for what you are searching but you better do it yourself;)

But like weed said, it is not a thing of just some minutes ...

by the way, I remembered I once found a "0 th century scene, I have to look for it ...do you still want it ? (just a basic scene without animation and so on ... but it can be used to make something like 20th intro)

3DMax has some really powerfull FX capabilities. Here are some ideas :
1. Create a flat plane (100 x 100 polygons min), assign the mirror (chrome raytrace) material to it. Create the text. Aim the camera at the mirror. Link and bind at least 3 ripple deformers to the plane. Animate the ripples, moving them from left to right / up down / diagonaly. Animate the amplitude of the ripple from 0 to 100%, then pass an explode mesh effect through the plane. Backlight with a strong volume light. Result : the text starts off clear, then slowly starts to shimmer, with increasing ripple effect then the plane breaks up with streaks of light beaming out through the breaks the the mesh ... then bring up a title mesh through the shattering plane.

2 Make an AVi of a cool cybersequence (like matrix screen saver) Texture map the AVI to the title text. Texture maps dont just have to be images ... they can be animations too.

3. Try zooming ... Transparency ... Lighting, there is so much to do, maybe even some of the more advanced effects like the glass raytrace material ... Put your text inside a water bubble, and ripple the surface of the bubble as other drops hit ...

4. Put your titling text picture or animation onto the projection map of a spotlight and then light up an interesting object (sphere) with it

5. Place a black plane in front of your text, at a volume light to a thin red spotlight (laser) Make the laser scan back and forth while slowly moving the black plane away from in front of the text Assign a glowing coal animation to your text ... looks like the laser is cutting the text out of a block of material ... Take particle generator (spray) illuminate brighly, and blur slightly, makes sparks fly from the impact point of the laser.

Hope I have been of some assistance
