Convert MS Publisher 2000 to 97

I need a good way to convert an MS Publisher 2000 file to MS Publisher 97.  I don't have access to Publisher 2000...all I have is 97, but need to open a file created in 2000.  Please help...

Good luck. Old programs usually have problems with files created by new programs because the file formats for the new programs just didnt exist when the old programs were current. Follow? So unless they didnt change any features/file formats between 97 and 2k, youre out of luck.

If you know someone that has Publisher 2000, you might try having them save the document as Publisher 98 file (available from SAVE/AS). There may not have been a big difference between formats for Publisher '97 and Publisher '98.

1. Besides the excellent advice above, if someone you know has the Adobe Pagemaker version 7 commercial software loaded on their PC, it should have the ability to import the Microsoft Publisher 2000 file, although there may be some conversion issues to solve.

2. Kinko's 24 hour computer stores often have software already installed on PC's you can rent for 20 minute or 1 hour intervals.

3. Another possibility would be to open the Publisher 2000 file using Wordpad, and just copy the text portions of the file and paste it into Publisher 97 - of course, without formatting , layout, etc. If you had a printed copy, it would probably be easier to re-type than copy and paste.
