Do you have any video editing software that will view MSMPEG-4 with WMA? Youre going to have to get it OUT of that before you can encode as a VCD. You may want to give up and I'll explain why.

When the audio/video was encoded, it was encoded "lossy". That means it lost quality. To encode it as  a VCD youll have to encode it again, and yet again, lose more quality. Unless the source material was SUPER high quality, your end VCD is going to be gritty and ugly.

Im using pinacle, but it wont run(play). Do you any converter? I know what you mean.

You may be out of luck then. Not much is going to play an MSMPEG-4, and even less when it has a WMA audio track. And then to be able to export it as soemething else? Probably not going to happen.

Nothing i can do to help you. Nothing i know of is going to export from MSMPEG-4 and WMA. There's a reason those formats are on my hit-list.

Youre not going from MPEG-4, youre going from MSMPEG-4. The difference is critical. Not just any MSMPEG-4 either. One with a WMA audio track. I just dont think it's gonna happen because you have to have something that can read both those formats, and have the capability to export. Just arent many apps thatll read MSMPEG-4 or WMA to begin with, and even fewer that will export to something else.

yup, the file has the extension of wma, how can I convert it into avi or mpeg1 or mpeg2?

by: weedPosted on 2004-08-15 at 08:35:45ID: 11804290

So it's an MPEG-4, with a WMA audio track, and the file extension is .WMA??...That's even weirder. Anyway, i think youre outta luck on this one. Using non-standard MS codecs is going to getcha every time.

EO Video can convert most video file to Mpeg or AVI.  You can also add different extension to the list if it is not default.  I convert a lot of RMVB to Mpeg and RMVB is not on the list orginally but after added it to the extension manager, not only it was able to read the file but converting it to different format also.  Reference site: http://www.eo-video.com/
