Hi,
Most probably it is because the images are missing. It might be that you use a webserver whereto you download images. If you get an X in a webpage, then the reason might be because the images actually are missing, the image-link refers to a wrong name etc. Doublecheck that you dont use filenames with spaces, odd characters and the images actually are present on the webserver.
One reason might be that the browser does not think that your JPEG actually is no a valid JPEG. How did you create the JPEG. If the image-file is corrupted, then ... you would see an X.
The problem might be with your browser. If somehow the images dont show up on your computer, but you have a friend with the same browser, and they show up on his - update/reinstall your browser. You can also check with another browser - if it is the browser they'll show up in for example the browser Opera (www.opera.com).
