Good morning. I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro on Windows. I am able to import some MPEG and VOB files and have the audio track appear as expected when importing into Premiere.
A friend however has recorded some home vidoes to a Panasonic DVR and made DVDs of them. I've tried taking the VOB files directly off the DVD and I've also converted them to Mpeg using a TPMGEnc utility. In both cases I can import the Mpeg files into Premiere but there is no audio track. The same files, Mpeg and VOB, play fine using Windows Media Player and I can hear the audio. The DVD also plays fine as a DVD.
In checking the audio properties using the TPMGEnc utility it would appear that the audio format is Dolby Digital (AC-3) 48000 Hz 2ch. Is Adobe Premiere Pro unable to import or separate the audio track in a Mpeg file if it was encoded in that format?
Any help would be appreciated.
