Graded colour scheme

Asked by GSD4ME in Web Graphics Software

Tags: graded, background, colour

I want to have a coloured background to a web page that is graded between two colours - eg starting with yellow at the top and gradually 'turning' into purple at the bottom.
Is there an easy way of doing this? It will probably have to be done as a background image, produced by one of the drawing packages, but can something like Paint or WordArt do this?
