I really like the site overall.  The color scheme is easy to look at.  The text is large enough, and yet not overly huge.  I like the javascript usage that calls events onchange rather than waiting for a page submittal.  The calendar looks nice.  I really enjoy sites that have custom forms rather than the defaults.

I think users will find it comfortable and easy to use, so well done.

My only suggestion is that you take a look at your form on the bottom -- the rightcol form.  I think the link above it, you missed a closing quote, which makes the "link" extend across the whole form...so attached is what it looks like in my browser.

I think this line in your code:
<div id="ad"><a href="index.php?p=ad_with_us"><img src="images/ad_start_here.gif" border="0" alt="Advertise Your Business></a></div>

Is the culprit.  The alt tag has an opening quote, but no closing.  Change to:
<div id="ad"><a href="index.php?p=ad_with_us"><img src="images/ad_start_here.gif" border="0" alt="Advertise Your Business"></a></div>

And I think that'll clear that up.

But seriously, otherwise I dunno what I'd change because it looks nice to me.  Will be even better when populated with real data (and generating you some real income, eh?) -- good job.

I to like the clean, professional look of the site. There is a lot of attention to detail and it shows.

I would suggest the need for photographs to make the site more personal. The opening photograph is so compelling, there needs to be more.
Not a lot. It's just that when you get into the different categories, all of the type starts looking the same and the feeling gets to be impersonal. Adding a photograph of people to a page makes the page more inviting and improves the customer experience.

There are plenty of very inexpensive stock photo sites with tens of thousands of images.

My other question regards the very nice pull down menu on the main categories page. Do you feel that it is necessary? All of the links to the sub-categories are on the page above the pull down. I found myself pulling down the menu several times to see if there was something there that I was missing on the page itself.

I did a limited test of www.centralcoastnexus.com on broswershot.org. I had trouble with IE 5.5 on XP, Firefox 2. on Windows 2000, and Safari 3.1 on Mac OS X, but these might just be uploading glitches. I have to wait until my session expires to test again.

I checked the CSS and HTML for validation. There was 1 parsing error in the CSS and 33 errors in the HTML.

Other that that, everything looks great.

I really like the colors and how professional it looks. I agree about adding a more personal feel. (especially if the goal is for people to shop).  On online shopping sites, having images of people really helps. After all it's not a coffee table book of scenics (even thought that first image is absolutely beautiful)

I can't wait to see what happens with the featured listings - I wondered how you play to display those (like what kind of layout)

Way to go on a really nice site.

Nicely done. Just a few points to make.. the nav across the top is redundant to the dropdown nav on each page with no apparent need for it. I'm not sure what "featured listings" means as it's way over on the left under the listings (unless it's a placeholder).

The "home" link is in the middle; and while the site is mostly intuitive as far as navigating, I always like to see a way to click "home". I found the FAQ page and did not know where I was with no link home. On a site with a lot of content maybe a breadcrumb added to the nav might be helpful. I knew I could click your logo to get home but frankly customers won't know that.

I would lose the title "Important links" although I imagine that's just a placeholder. Where it says "business login" I'd say "login", as it seems you have customers login as well.

All in all though a nice, clean simple design with just a few things to sweep up. Nice work.
