Best quality output for a .png file that has alot of text

Asked by Andreamc in Web Graphics Software, Font Software

We have a series of data tables (listing various countries down the left, and several columns of criteria across the top) that we have created for a research website we are building. The tables have developed in Adobe InDesign CS3, and the font used is Helvetica Condensed (as there is alot of text to fit into these tables). We then exported the tables from InDesign as EPS files, opened the EPS files in Illustrator CS3, and exported them as .PNG files at 72 dpi, and placed in a CMS (Sitefinity). We established 3 different pixel widths for these tables, and are ensuring they are being imported at 100%. The problem is that we are disappointed in the quality of the text on screen. It's quite blurry. We are now looking at going back and redoing the tables using the Verdana font and making the text a little larger, but before doing that, I wanted to check if there are other avenues we should be exploring first.
Thanks,
