Primere video is corrupt

I am working on a Primere video that is 1:16 and at 54 min it goes corrupt on me - the video plays fine in Media Player and Avi Player
I tried to splice the movie from 54 to 1:16 and insert that in but it still poops out
I opened a new project and tried to just put in the shorter video but it still does not work

The video is fine up to 54 min - any suggestions
I took the first screen because I am also having jumping issues - which you can see in the attached image - but the other issue here is the video - image 2

Hmm that looks like damage to the source material - is the original video ok?

Are you using a reliable codec? Sometimes when you install codec packs they can sneak in unstable releases - can you try converting using a different codec?

If it's always at the same point if conversion that could imply the video source is damaged, or the codec can't handle the processing after a certain level. I don;t see it being hardware failure if its at the same point of conversion; a damaged harddrive would be picked up through your daily operation (but still may be worth a thourough scan disk)

hum - how do I check the codec that you reference? a reliable codec?

The video is fine in other players - it runs throught fine - but once I throw it into Premiere - cropped or not it just poops out - what Premiere does do is converts the MEPG to an AVI when I import

again I still can not save

Hi - the movie plays fine in the original file (mpeg) and I convert it to another (mpeg) and it then inperprets it as an avi file when I pull it into Premiere - another short 15 min was corrupt last night - so i have 2 bunk ones - I can play the videos fine in the AVS player -

I have not even tried to save another movie I have 6 videos I am trying to complete - I did them - with 2 corrupt.

Sorry to sound lame - should I do about the CODECs - I do not just want to grab any and try it out http://www.free-codecs.com/ - seems a little scarry for me - but I will if it will fix this problem. If I install the codects do I have to reconvert the videos?
