The key is the format that the printing service requires. If you are just copying, then any graphics package would do the job. If you are doing a true typeset, then you need printers marks. I like Corel Draw for this kind of thing..but Adobe products (Photoshop or Illustrator) will work as well. None of these, to the best of my knowledge, has a template but it wouldn't take long to create one.

If you plan to buy pre-scored cards from Avery (or another common label manufacturer), then there will be a template within Microsoft Word to handle this. Depending on the complexity, this may be sufficient.

Good luck,

-b

-b,

Looking to what a consider a pretty simple logo.  an area in blue to the left and to the right of the logo in blue.  Upload the logo and type the letters in white.

How can I get this done?

Please see attached.

thanks,

Personally, I would do this in Corel Draw and hand it to a professional printer. Of course, it is easiest to just let them do it for you but that would cost more. If you aren't familiar with graphics based products or simply do not own them, then I suggest using MS-Word which should also so this.

  • Purchase Avery Business Cards in White. They have several styles but here is one example.
  • Start a new document within MS-Word (I'm referencing Word 2007).
  • Go to Mailings tab and select 'labels'
  • Select Options and then change the Label Vendor dropdown to "Avery US Letter." Then scroll through the list of product numbers and select "28877." Press 'ok.'
  • Select "New Document" on the open window. This should put you back in your document with the page delineated for the business cards. It's just a standard document with a table formatted for the specific label you just selected.
  • Now to to the top left and create the business card:
    • Insert an embedded table (within the top left box in the overall table) with three columns and one row. Drag the bottom of that table down to the bottom of the business card.
    • Resize the three box of this embedded table to match the three regions in your desired format. The left box will simply be colored purple. The next box will contain your graphic. The right box will contain the text.
    • Use shading and border formatting to get each of the three boxes to look as you desire. Be sure to eliminate the table outline so that it doesn't print
  • Once done (be sure to save), you should be able to print onto the purchased "labels." I suggest that you print a couple test pages to make sure it all works as expected before you commit your labels.

Good luck again
