What I would like to do is have the ability to upload an image from the local machine, have it re-sized to a pre-defined size and the resulting file name inserted into the database via the already created form, a one stop solution. I've seen many file uploaders but not spotted one that will fulfill my requirement, and help and guidance much appreciated. I'm using php.

You will have to code the database INSERT after the file is uploaded. Just finished a similar project using cutesoft.net uploader. Worked well, but I had to write VB.NET code in order to insert the db record. See if this link helps: http://www.jtechsystems.co .za/code-v iew.php?id =45
You might find some helpful code in there. :)
