Hi All,
We are taking over support for a company that host on godaddy.com.
We have a MYSQL/PHP based trouble ticketing system that allows users to enter a trouble ticket, respond, track, etc. The system works fine.
Problem is:
Godaddy will not allow you to connect to theGodaddy mail server from a Godaddy site.
I installed apache on my local machine, installed the ticketing system and was able to connect to the godaddy mail server just fine. I contacted Godaddy and they said that the shared web hosting servers will not allow you to contact the mail server from within a program.
But the manager I talked to eluded to the fact that there was a work around for this but he was not able to tell me what it was. Has anyone ran across this before? I have goggle'd the problem all yesterday and could not find an answer.
the error I get back is:
warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to pop.secureserver.net:110 in /home/content/ etc.
I found a similar article on EE without a resolution but as I talked to a manager at godaddy I know there is a way around it....I just dont know what it is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And I know moving to a different host would be best but that is not an option at this point.
Thanks
Sean
