Be aware of files in Win2008 and the fact that when they upload they are also "locked" for a while in the prosess. We have made a loop trying to move the file, and every 2nd attempt it now works.

Browse All TopicsThis is a sample code:
File file = new File( "C:\\mads.txt" );
FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream( file );
fos.write("HelloMads".getB
fos.close();
File dest = new File( "C:\\mads.jpg" );
boolean success = file.renameTo( dest );
System.out.println( "Success: " + success ); // false
For some strange reason it all works on WIn2003, but after migrating to Win2008 we cant seem to get this simple task done! PLEASE help us!! The files upload to the temp folder of Win2008, and we want to move the file to a new location on the same disk with file.renameTo but it doesnt work and doesnt return any errors for us...
