Unfortunately, there is a huge difference between 5.1 & 6.0 and again between 6.0 & 7.0. So, the "leap" from 5.1 -> 7.0 is potentially huge.

> i deployed the ear file in server but the web site was not opened can you send instruction for deployment project in the server and data source connections
I've read this multiple times now, and I am still confused.
"i deployed the ear file in server"
How (exactly) did you do this?
- did you use the AdminConsole?
- or scripting?
"... but the web site was not opened"
What (exactly) do you mean by this?
Was the AppServer started when you deployed the EAR file?
"can you send instruction for deployment project in the server and data source connections"
Here are some instructions for publishing an application:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.
Here instructions for configuring a JDBC provider and data source:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.
- ok, so you deployed the Application (EAR) using the Admin Console. good.
- In your update here (http:#a25177869), we see that the Server is starting correctly (notice the line "Server server1 open for e-business").
Is this the server onto which you deployed the application?
Or, might you have another AppServer defined?
- One thing that I did notice is that you are currently at 5.1.1.12 (see line 4 of the same update, where it says "BASE 5.1.1.12").
I would strongly encourage you to update to the latest available version. To do so:
- Point your browser to the WebSphere Application Server support page
http://www.IBM.com/softwar
[Bookmark this page]
- Click on the "Download" link (just to the right of center)
- Click on the "Recommended fixes" link
[Bookmark this page]
- Click on the "Version 5.1" link
Here you can see that:
"Fix Pack 5.1.1.19 is the final Fix Pack deliverable for V5.1.1."
- You should probably use the "V5.1 Update Installer" link to retrieve the code, and the instructions on how to install the Update Installer program.
- Then, go back to the previous page, and select the appropriate Operating System link (e.g., Windows, Linux, Aix, etc), to get to the appropriate page containing the updates for your environment, and download the package files (*.PKG) for the items to be updated.
- Install the Update Installer
- Move the *.PKG files to the UpdateInstaller\maintenanc
- Stop all AppServer processes
- Use the UpdateInstaller to install Fix Pack 19 components (e.g., AppServer, SDK, and anything else that is needed).
- Verify the updates,
- Clear (rename, or move) your AppServer log files
- Start your AppServer
- Go to the AdminConsole
- Try starting the Application
- If it fails, attach the log files here for review.

Are WSAD 5.1 and RAD 7 on the same machine, or different machines?
com/infoce nter/radhe lp/v7r0m0/ index.jsp? topic=/org .eclipse.w st.server. ui.astrxd. doc.user/ t opics/tpub lish.html
If different machines, copy the EAR file to the RAD 7 machine.
Then publish the EAR to your server...
