KeyStore file in Application Servers (WebLogic, WebSphere ...)

Asked by Cyber-EE in BEA WebLogic Application Server, IBM Websphere Application Server, J2EE

Hi,

I am newbie in the Application Servers zone and I am investigating KeyStore in it.
I would like to know what purposes does Key Store file have in Application Server (for example WebLogic 9.2). I know that it is used to establish SSL communication to the Application Server but I would like to know if there are other purposes. For example Application Server provide JDBC services, does it provide KeyStore services? Can I connect to the Application Server and ask it to give me a key./certificate from the KEyStore much like I ask it to give me a JDBC connection?

Thanks very much,
