I don't want to secure the web console or JMX console. I just want to login into web console and JMX console

For me it asks for username and password
Can you open the following file?
<JBoss root>\server\default\conf\l
Search for <application-policy name = "jmx-console">. Under that you would find the user and role properties file that would have the username-password combinations. Please go to the properties file specified by <module-option name="usersProperties"> and you would get the username password combinations.
Also go to <JBoss root>\\server\default\deplo
Ensure that the security-constraint block is uncommented and below <login-config> block exists after the end of the <security-constraint> block.

<auth-method>BASIC</auth-meth
<realm-name><name of application policy from login-config.xml></realm-nam

Thanks Thomas!! I think the user password for jmx-console users is one way hashed and that is why it is not taking it up correctly. I made suitable changes on my JBoss(4.2.3) and was able to set up the JMX console
Can you replace the attached files contained in the zip(replace .pdf extention with .xml and .txt with -properties) at the relevant locations, restart the server and let me know if you are able to login to jmx-console with user and password both admin?
