I have the OC4J background process (web service) launched. We're having this problem on another machine too so I don't think uninstalling/reinstalling will be much help.

Browse All TopicsHi everyone,
I installed Oracle 10g Application Developer Suit and I'm able to open and compile forms. However, when I try to execute a 10g form, I don't get very far. The browser that gets launched from Forms Designer throws an error and closes right away (after prompting to send error report). I tried IE7, IE8, and Firefox with the same result. Even running the simple test.fmx outside of Designer causes this problem.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

The solution was the add-ons! Some of the add-ons interfered with the JVM somehow. After disabling a bunch of them (Tools -> Manage Add-ons), it worked! I'm not sure exactly which one it was that caused the problem, but it was probably one of the MSN or Windows Live add-ons that was the culprit. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Firstly ensure that the correct Oracle web service is running. I think its Oracle HTTP service.
If this is running you'll be better doing a re-install as a library file or similar didn't install correctly.
Hope this helps.
