Logon Logoff Application

I need an application\applet\gpo that will collect when a user authenticates at a workstation and when the user logs off. I need date, logon time, username, workstation logoff time.

There is roughly 1700 worstations running deep freeze so installing anything local is not an option.

I looked at GFI Event Managers and it will do what I need but the software needs to be licensed at every workstation, every server, etc, it got expensive for an application that I will only use 1 feature.

Any thoughts??
