I remember doing this once...  I *believe* it was all in the registry, but I can't remember where (it was over 5 years ago) :-(

If you have a spare machine, I would do it on that, as obviously getting up to your elbows in the registry could end in tears :-(

Sorry I can't be of more help...

How to Setup and use LOADJAVA on Windows NT/98/95

   I.  Setting up the Path
  II.  Setting up the Classpath
 III.  Using LOADJAVA

I.  Setting up the Path
-----------------------

To setup the path, perform the following steps:

1.  Go to an MS/DOS prompt.

2.  Type 'path' to show what is currently set as the path.

    Your path should look similar to the following (example from
    Windows NT):

      PATH=c:\Oracle8i\bin;c:\jdk1.1.8\bin;
      C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.7\bin;C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32;
      C:\WINNT;

3.  If your path does not look like this, then change it using one of
    the two methods below, depending upon your platform:

    For Windows NT machines ONLY, perform the following steps:

    a)  Go to the Control Panel > System and choose the Environment
        tab.

    b)  Select either the path or classpath variable from the system
        variables and edit them at the bottom of the screen.

        Note:  This change occurs for the entire machine.

    For Windows 95/98 machines ONLY, edit the autoexec.bat file from
    an MS/DOS prompt to add the path and classpath changes.

        Note:  This change affects the entire machine, but the
               machine must be rebooted for the changes to take effect.

Example:

The following is an example of changing the path at an MS/DOS prompt:

1.  First, you must know where your Oracle 8i Oracle home is located.
    In this example, it is c:\Oracle8i.

2.  JDK must already be installed and you need to know the directory where
    it is located.  In this example, it is located at c:\jdk1.1.8

3.  You must know where your operating system is installed.  In this example,
    Windows NT is installed in the c:\winnt directory.

    Note:  To make this path change work on your machine, change the
           example below to the parameters described in steps 1 and 2.

4.  Type the following at an MS/DOS prompt to change the path:

      set PATH=c:\Oracle8i\bin;c:\jdk1.1.8\bin;
      C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.7\bin;C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32;
      C:\WINNT;

    Note:  The above must be typed on one line.

If you plan to use loadjava frequently, and do not want to make these
changes on the machine, you may want to create a .bat file to run at
the MS/DOS prompt to make the change.

II.  Setting up the Classpath
-----------------------------

The following steps are similar to the path instructions.

1. Go to an MS/DOS prompt.

2. Type 'set classpath'.  This shows the value of your current classpath.

   To use loadjava, your classpath should look similar to the
   following (example from Windows NT):

     set CLASSPATH=.;c:\Oracle8i\jdbc\lib\classes111.zip;
     c:\Oracle8i\sqlj\lib\translator.zip;
     c:\Oracle8i\sqlj\lib\runtime.zip;
     c:\jdk1.1.8\lib\classes.zip;

3.  If your classpath does not look like this, then it can be changed
    the same way the path paramter is.  Refer to Step 3 above for the
    instructions.

Example:

The following is an example of changing the classpath at an MS/DOS prompt:

1.  First, you must know where your Oracle 8i Oracle home is located.
    In this example, it is c:\Oracle8i.  Therefore, the JDBC drivers
    would be located under the c:\Oracle8i\jdbc\ folder.

    Note:  This is the case only if you installed the JDBC drivers using
           the universal installer.  Otherwise, find the classes111.zip
           for the JDBC driver and change the directory to that folder.

    SQLJ would be located under the directory c:\Oracle8i\sqlj.

2.  JDK must already be installed and you need to know the directory where
    it is located.  In this example, it is located at c:\jdk1.1.8

    Note: To make this path change work on your machine, you must
          change the example below to the parameters explained
          in 'Setting up the Path', steps 1 and 2.

3.  Type the following at an MS/DOS prompt which changes the classpath
    for a Windows NT machine:

         set CLASSPATH=.;c:\Oracle8i\jdbc\lib\classes111.zip;
         c:\Oracle8i\sqlj\lib\translator.zip;
         c:\Oracle8i\sqlj\lib\runtime.zip;
         c:\jdk1.1.8\lib\classes.zip;

    Note:  This is one of the most important steps since without these
           parameters, loadjava will not run.  It would be missing some
           of the most important java files such as the translator.zip or
           the runtime.zip.
