Websphere 5 Backup and Restore?

We have Websphere v5 Running on a Windows 2003 Server. We do a full back up of this server using Veritas Backup Exec every night. I have tried to find documentation of recovery proceures for Websphere with little luck, and I'm beginning to think that it will require a reinstall from scratch. I am looking for the most simple and effective method for a Websphere restore to dissimilar equipment.

Ah, after re-reading your request, we will focus on the phrase "... restore to dissimilar equipment."

Sorry, this is not something that you can do with a backup/restore.

A backup and restore is designed and implemented to allow the information to be used to recover information to "the same equipment". It is not meant to be used to "replicate, or move" your installation from one machine to another.

Let me see if I can find any information about doing something like this though...
