We are running Weblogic 8.1 server and often see this error in the logs: java.net.SocketException: Broken pipe. Our users are experiencing blank pages as a result.

this is most likely caused by a connection rejection by weblogic. try setting your open file size to (file-max) greater to what it is now. e.g. 65535
