Authentication is not provided by Webtop, it is provided by Content Server. If you like to authenticate against something that supports LDAP you can try configuring that service through the Documentum Administrator, however if you are want to authenticate against some home made system or anything else you should customize the dm_check_password, which is the program that CS uses for the authentication process. Look for it in the Documentum Content Server Administration Guide of the version you are using.

Hi,

To make it very clear, when user login to windows machine( which gets authenticated in LDAP) and if he tried to open webtop say http://server:8080/webtop then it needs to retrieve authentication details from local machine and should  open webtop with that windows users credetials. I can configure LDAP object in content server and can run  dm_LDAPSychronization job daily to import the new users from LDAP. But still user needs to enter his credentials in webtop. This is the thing which i need to Bypass .

Sukumar

I think it is more complex, reviewing the  WDK 6SP1 Deployment Guidei only find that SSO is possible through RSA ClearTrust or CA SiteMinder, however this are like out of the box plugins, so you may need to create kind of a custom plugin following the instructions in the CS Administration Guide to match the functionality of these and configure your webtop in the same way. It looks like it will need a lot of work...

Hi,

i had captured logged-in user id along with domin name and passing this to custom component in webtop. In that component i am creating ticket for that user using super user session like

String userTicket =   superuserSession.getTicketForUser("captured_username");

Is this the right way ?

Regards,
Sukumar

by: omoralesmPosted on 2009-03-31 at 16:17:04ID: 24034753

Is superuserSession a IDfSession object? Because I don't have the getTicketForUSer method documented on the DFC Javadocs.

by: sukumarraoPosted on 2009-04-01 at 05:57:41ID: 24038592

Sorry. actual method is getLoginTicketForUser(String userName)  which is present in IDfSession and in my case superuserSession is of type IDfSession

so i ot the ticket by using

String userTicket = superuserSession.getLoginTicketForUser("captured_username");

Regards,
Sukumar
