Question
Web Links on Joomla 1.5 either result in 404 not found or return to the frontpage, depending on whether SEF links are OFF or ON.
Please go to http://67.215.225.108 (it is in Spanish).
Find the Main article and click on the "Leer mas..." Link (same as read more in English) The result is a return to the start page (inicio), or a 404 NOT FOUND error, depending on whether the SEF Links option is ON or OFF. When turned ON, I HAVE renamed the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess.
Same behaviour is shown on other Web Links. for example, select "Ministerios de Trabajo" from the Instituciones Participantes Menu at Left, click on the Costa Rica link (or any other country), and you get sent to a BAD version of the start page (again, inicio), but where the template does not load at all, just links are shown.
I have researched this on several forums to no avail, meaning I dont find their posted solutions acceptable (i.e. change Apache or PHP versions, although mine are within the specified requirements, or editing the .htaccess file to specify a RewriteBase other than /, which I have done with no results).
This is a Joomla 1.5rc3 Site on Debian Sarge Server, Apache 1.3.33, PHP 4.3.10-18, Apache has required mods enabled, particularly mod-rewrite.
