Alfresco scripting

Hi there,
i wrote a javascript in Alfresco, that creates a huge space structure, adds users and rules to spaces and so on...
the problem is, that my script takes about 10 - 20 minutes time.
Now i want to return some values to the user. For example : "Created 140 / 500 Spaces", or "Completed 44%" or something like that. Just satus informations, but i did not find a way to do that. I can only return a string after finishing the script but not during the script.
Do u have any ideas?

Is this maybe possible with Webscripts or someting?
