Make a Quick Links Module In Joomla

You would think there would be a module that you add a couple of quick links to (relative and non relative) to a template. I am looking for a quick links module that is manageable from the back end, hopefully be able to insert weblinks inside the module as well.

I am using Joomla 1.5 BTW.

Anyone got any ideas?

Sure  there are several ways to do this - how about - create a menu of links  - and publish it in a menu module.

In J! 1.5...

So go to yoursite.com/adminsitrator and login
1. Create Menu
go to menus - click on menu manager
select new
name your menu - anything you wish - e.g, Quick Links as TITLE and something like quick-links as unique name - the rest will auto fill
click save
2. Add your links
go to menus - click on yoru quick links menu
select new
click on external link (doesn't mattr if you use internal or extrernal link here - always use external link)
put the url in link box" enter a TITLE (ther rest will self complete)
make sure it's published and press save
add as many links as you like - i.e. rpt stpe 2
3. Publish menu in a module
goto extensions - module manager
click new
select mod_mainmenu
in title - put Quick Links
on rt paramter select your quick link menu
thne choose posistion and assignment.
