Question

Joomla / Artisteer Footer Issue

Asked by: harrisonjf

I've built a new website www.cs-cc.org for a regional non-profit.  I've got nearly everything working well -- EXCEPT for a very frustrating issue with the page footer (author backlink) text.
The template was built with Artisteer and I included the "author backlink" option in the Artisteer Export Options dialog box.  This is supposed to display the URL of my website.

However, when uploaded and viewed using Joomla, the domain name for the website www.cs-cc.org is inserted before my author URL and hence the link doesn't work.

I can't determine if this is a "Joomla" feature or an "Artisteer" issue -- I've checked the code in dozens of Joomla php pages and cannot track-down the sources of this, apparently automatically generated URL insertion.

This has me baffled.  Any thoughts, guidance or solutions would be very much appreciated.

The setting you seek is deep in /templates/<yourtemplate>index.php. I would enter the information manually in the file if everything else fails

<div class="art-Footer">
 <div class="art-Footer-inner">
  <?php echo artxModules($document, 'syndicate'); ?>
  <div class="art-Footer-text">
  <?php if (artxCountModules($document, 'copyright') == 0): ?>
<p><?php $time = time () ; $year= date("Y",$time); echo "Copyright &copy; 2007 - " . $year . " ENTER COMPANY HERE"; ?> <br>
All Rights Reserved.</p>

  <?php else: ?>
  <?php echo artxModules($document, 'copyright', 'art-nostyle'); ?>

This is the original code Artisteer produces

<div class="Footer">
 <div class="Footer-inner">
  <?php echo artxModules($document, 'syndicate'); ?>
  <div class="Footer-text">
  <?php if (artxCountModules($document, 'copyright') == 0): ?>

All Rights Reserved.</p>

  <?php else: ?>
  <?php echo artxModules($document, 'copyright', 'xhtml'); ?>
  <?php endif; ?>

Brainstormer,

The code you reference is in a "Footer" location, but it is not the code that is creating my problem. The code you reference displays standard copyright information and, as you can see on my client's website, the copyright information looks just fine.

The problem I am working on is the "Author linkback URL" below the page footer...

The code in the Index.php file of the template looks correct (see below) and should work -- but, if you hover or click on the EZ-Insites link, you will see that something (Joomla or Artisteer) has prefaced my website's URL (www.ez-insites) with the URL of the Catholic Charities website (www.cs-cc.org).

Any ideas on where or why this is being inserted or how can I fix/remove this???

That's the solution.  Curious that in the absense of a properly formatted URL, the existing website's URL was automatically inserted...  Thanks!
