With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution.   • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Web Content Management System

Hello. I am a web designer who primarily uses flash and html to get projects done. I've only been designing sites for about 2-3 years. Recently, I have a client who is interested in building a site using a CMS (content management system) platform. I am not sure where to begin. Below are the requirements:

(A) The site is not for blogging

(B) It's for a real estate company. They want it clean, simple, and fairly linear, with: images, links, & perhaps some flash.

(C) They want to be able to add and edit the page in the future on their own  (which is why they want to use CMS); they have no technical knowledge as far as web design/programming/publishing is concerned -- which is why CMS is good for them (right??).

QUESTION 1:  I've heard of so many different types of CMS platforms, such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Mambo, etc. etc. So... What "language" or type of CMS platform do you recommend and why?

QUESTION 2: Which language is the easiest to learn and use? And how do you go about publishing these pages? Normally, I use Dreamweaver.

QUESTION 3: Which language is the easiest for the end-user (the client) to use (to edit the webpages in the future)?

QUESTION 4: What are some of the more popular CMS languages and, briefly, what are the pros and cons of each?

This is a 500 point question since I need a thoughtful, thorough answer :) Also, please try and keep your response in laymans terms as I am not extremely technically oriented.
