Thanks -file turned out to be incomplete.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI downloaded a file with the extension .msi
When attempting to run the file, a security warning appeared, showing that the file type was a Windows Installer Package, but with an Unknown Publisher.
When I chose to run the file anyway, a Windows Installer box appeared, with the message : - This installation package could not be opened.
The PC has installed: -
Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.01.2600 (Service Pack 3)
- which includes msiexec.exe (Windows Installer V3.01.4001.5512 )
+ Adobe Reader 9.1.2
The same file was opened successfully on another PC which has installed: -
Microsoft Windows XP (2002) Professional 5.01.2600 (Service Pack 2)
- which includes msiexec.exe (Windows Installer V3.01.4000.1823 )
+ Adobe Reader 8.1.6
Any ideas how to get the first PC to open an .msi file?

Well clearly the MSI is corrupt.
Check that the file is correct in size vs the source size.
Redownload if neccessary.
