Can the version history of a file on SharePoint be preserved when moving the file?

I would like to reorganize some of the files in the "Shared Documents" section of the site. However, when I select the "Send To->Other Location" command, a copy is created, which shares none of the version history of the original file.
I would like to keep that history attached to the file, is there any way to accomplish this?
