Public Folders re-home

Hi,

I am planning for PF re-homing, 380 folders with various sizes. 1mb > 512mb in size
What is the best way to do this.

Suggested method thus far:

1. Create a replica (wait for servers to replicate the change)
2. Re-home
3. Remove original replica

Do I have to do each folder individually or just the root folders? If so how?

The Exchange 2000 Resource Kit contains a utility called PFAdmin, which will allow you to create replica's in a batch.

The method you suggested sounds good. You have to be VERY careful if you use PFADMIN. This will cause thousands and thousands of replication messages, which will bottleneck the server, take up alot of disk space, fill the queues very quickly, and can shut the services down if any of the above occur.

You can use PFADMIN, but i would only use it for ten to 20 at a time if you must.

But your original post is correct on how to rehome.

After some further reading and your comments I'll go with the manual way(replica) instead of Pfadmin.
