Multiple journal mailboxes
We have message journaling enabled within Exchange 2000 which is set up to go to a mailbox.
Is there a way to set journaling up to go to multiple mailboxes?
For instance, because we luuuuuuuuuuv to have a copy of ALL our email viewable for our legal department from one mailbox, we'd like to have it in a second mailbox just in case they miss the first mailbox.
(just a bit of sarcastic humour on this last part)
We'd like to accomplish this without auto-forwarding, if possible.
Thanks!

No not possible without u enabling forwarding on that users mailbox.
I forgot to ask what is the issue with u folks for not enabling forwarding on that users mailbox that all emails are being archieved?

well, actually, we have journaling enabled and sending to a custom recipient with an smtp address, so it goes right out of our org. to be archived.
We have a second archiving system that is used for Internet only mail. (I know, quite the pain i nthe ass systems, but that's the way it is).
We are going to put a filter on to extract inbound and outbound internet email ONLY.
When I turned journaling on and had it archive to a mailbox, THEN auto-forward out to the custom recipient/contact, I got strange looping errors (although I can't remember what they were, right now).
This is where I came up with journaling to a SECOND mailbox, idea.

I figured that was the answer, but I figured I'd ask, anyway.
Thanks for the help!

You have Enterprise or Standard edition Exchange? If Enterprise, put the journaling mailbox on a separate mailbox store is the same SG. Then set up journaling on that store to go to a 3rd mailbox store, where the 2nd journal mailbox will be located.

Enterprise:
interesting idea. So I would basically be daisy chaining those "journal mailboxes". hmmm. I might just have to try that out.
That might just work

no prob. I like pessimistic answers. It reminds me of my kind of responses. :)
hahahha!
Yes, daisy-chaining. you could even create a second SG for the last link, so that if you lost the first SG's logfiles (corruption),you'd still have the other SG intact.
