The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Forwarding/Routing Exchange 2003 Email

Asked by pcthelp in Exchange Email Server

Tags: exchange, 2003, email, forward, routing

Hi,

We have an awkward email scenario that is giving us and our client some problems. The email is configured as follows...

Our client has a domain (i.e. client.com) and an associated 'hosted' web server, which handles email for the domain. Furthermore, our client has an office server running SBS 2003 and Exchange 2003 (the office domain is configured as client.local and not client.com).
We have set-up the Exchange Server to accept POP3 (to handle incoming email from the web server) and set-up SMTP to handle email being sent to receiptants via an ISP. Note that the web and office server are in two geographically different locations. This is where the problem comes into view...

Our client as several home-based employess (i.e. Mr. Joe Bloggs) who directly talk to the web server to collect their email (i.e. joe.bloggs@client.com), thus bypassing the office server, they use their own ISP internet connection for this.
Sometimes these employees our in the office and therefore logon to the office domain (but there's no need for email access whilst they are in the office). However, the company secretary (who has an Logon/Exchange account and uses Outlook 2003 in the office) wants to email 'Mr. Joe Bloggs' and can't. The secretary gets an email back stating that the receiptant cannot be found on the office domain.

Can anyone shed any light on a solution to the problem above. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
