The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

!!!URGENT FIX TODAY!!! - Some Users Unable To See Some Folders Under Public Folders.  Exchange Permissions Problem?

Asked by rwooders in Exchange Email Server

Tags: folder, cannot, unable, public, exchange

!!!!!!! THIS IS VERY URGENT AND NEEDS TO BE SOLVED TO DAY IF POSSIBLE !!!!!!

I've got a Exchange 2000 server, and we use Public Folders for a good amount of information.

Unfortunatley some fo the users are unable to see the folders in Outlook.  Administrators can see them all, other users can see some, and a few users can see all of the folders..   The folders missing are usually the same ones for all users, give or take a couple.

I've been trying to access the permissions for the folders in System Manager, but an error keeps getting thrown up.

If I go to Administrative Groups > First Administrative Group > Servers > MAIL01 > Public Folder Store (MAIL01) > Public Folders then select Properties of one of the Public Folders in the right window, go to Permissions and select 'CLIENT PERMISSIONS' I get the following error thrown up:

"You cannot open the Client Permission page for this folder because its content is not replicated to any public stores.  specifiy public stores for content replication on the Replication Page"

Okay, I go to the Replication Page and ADD a Server (the only exchange server we have MAIL01), click OK.  I then go back in to the PROPERTIES page and the changes I have made have disappeared.

This problem seems like a permissions problem of some sort.  I am unable to work out where I can change these permissions and can not find any reference to the errors I am recieving.

If anybody can solve this today I would be very grateful as the problem needs to be solved by Monday morning.
