I'm not the one who will be doing this, so please try to be as specific as possible in your answers.
We currently run Exchange (I'm assuming 5.5 or 6, I don't do the mail server) and need to migrate to Exchange 2003. We have some corruption on the mail database, so just a bulk move over is a problem. Our network admin wants to move the mailboxes in groups, so he can figure out which are the corrupted mailboxes.
Internally, this is no problem. The current Exchange server will just look on the new server. HOwever, we also have OWA, and it doesn't redirect when you use OWA from an external machine. (I might not be saying this right.)
So the big question is -- how do we get the current Exchange server to automatically go looking on the new Exchange 2003 server when the mailbox has been moved and you're accessing the mailbox using OWA from an external connection?
Details will really help. If we need cheap software, we can probably get it. If it's expensive software/hardware, that ain't gonna happen. If you need more info about our setup, ask.
And of course, this is a huge rush. Partly because he wants to get it done, and partly because he's afraid the corruption on our current server will get worse.
