Distribution List Maximum Size Restrictions in Exchange 2003/Outlook 2003

Trying to create distribution lists in Outlook 2003 containing approximately 400 enteries from Outlook Address Book contacts.  Get error "This distribution list has reached the maximum size for your network e-mail server.  No new members could be added."

Is there a default maximum and can I change it in Outlook or on the Exchange Server?

Thanks!

The limit is like 32KB with all of the contacts in the DL, if memory serves me correctly.  That will give you between 50 and 150 folks, dependent upon how much information is stored.

Most of the Microsoft articles mention exactly what Exchange_Admin mentioned

This may help you get around it.

as they have said this is a limit of dist lists created within outlook, you won't run into this restriction if you create the DL in AD.

Kris.
Note that creating a DL in AD is that it requires that you create the contacts in AD as well.
