Easy-v is right. Just as an additional recomendation, simply use the Exchange server CD and run the setup. Uncheck all the other options except the one that says "Exchange System Manager". click next and your set. You won't be installing the actual components to run exchange on the other computer. Just incase that is your concern.

You need to install the Exchange System Management tools on the DC.
Or, on the other hand, you can manage AD and your users from your Exchange server.
In order for the exchange properties to show up in Active Directory users and computers, you need to have the ESM installed on the same machine.
