The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Keeps getting Undeliverables could not deliver in time limit specified error 4.4.7

Asked by zakirdavis in Exchange Email Server

I have an exchange user that is sending email to a few domains. When he sends out, he continually gets undeliverables from our exchange server saying:

Sent: Thursday, May 05, 2005 1:02 PM
To: User Name
Subject: Undeliverable:subject

Your message

  To:      user@user.com
  Subject: subject
  Sent:    Thu, 5 May 2005 12:20:08 -0400

did not reach the following recipient(s):

user@user.com on Thu, 5 May 2005 13:02:18 -0400
Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified.  Please retry or contact your administrator.

I am wondering if the problem is as such:

In our active directory, the user name is j.doe@domain.com and the actual real email address is j.doe@domain.com. However, the user wanted the firstname@domain.com as their email address. So i made an smtp address john@domain.com, but left j.doe@domain.com as the default reply to address.

Do you think that since someone sent him email to john@domain.com, he hit reply and it sent from j.doe.domain.com, that the recipients exchange server or other mail server blocked the mail since the reply-to address is not the same as the original address it was sent to? I am wondering if this is my problem. It seems that i only have this problem with people that have multiple smtp addresses. By default i leave the default reply-to address as their original j.doe@domain.com, and just add john@domain.com so they can receive mail on that too.
