Browse All TopicsI've setup shared calendar and other shared access to parts of a users' email before... BUT here is a fun challenge. Typical scenario- Boss wants secretary to organize her schedule exclusively. ON the boss computer, the sharing calender client, I manualy setup security to the mailbox (folder visible) then the calendar under the mailbox (publishing editor.) On the secretary computer I go to control panel/mail and add access to the boss's mailbox. In outlook on the secretary's computer get it to display "all mail folders" and there is a Mailbox-<boss username> with a plus next to it; click the plus and the calendar is shared.
Seems normal so far.
go to calendar tab, click the checkmark next to the boss calendar- commence editing. Everything was fine for a few hours. I get called back to the scene. there is no 'boss calendar' go to "all mail folders" and there is a Mailbox-<boss username> with a plus next to it; click the plus , now I can see boss calendar in calendars. Get it back, it dissapears again within 10-20 seconds. rinse.. wipe hands on pants.
Being slightly less familiar with OLK2003 with regards to calendars and the new shortcut system, when compared to OLK 2002
I create a shortcut to be listed when you click the shortcut (square with arrow) button. It dissappears.
I go to calendars, click Open a shared calendar, select the user, the check box comes back briefly. Go to email, go back to calendar- it's gone again.
Eventually the plus sign dissapears from Mailbox <boss username>
here is the only workaround I've come up with-
I made a windows shortcut that goes directly to the boss calendar (outlook://....) works great, but it's not the answer.
I removed cached mode from the secretary computer.
what do you think?
TIA
