We are attempting to set up an internal IM server. I have the Exchange Server 2000 correctly set up with all the latest SP and patches. I have installed and configured the IM piece according to several different documents...all of which agree on the proper procedure. I have created the SRV record in DNS. I have activated IM for a test user in my domain. I have installed MSN Messenger 7 on a test workstation in that same domain and I have logged onto that workstation with the user who I wish to test IM with. When I start the IM client I put in the user's name in the format username@domain_name and I put in his password. What I get 100 % of the time is the following error: "We were unable to sign you in to the MSN Messenger, possibly because of a problem with your Internet connection. Please try again later. 80072745."
I have looked at many troublehshooting documents and I have completely recreated the virtual server in Exchange, redefined everything that I could and reactivated the user. I always get this error...Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanx...Jon
