The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. POP3 with exchange 2000

I have exchange 2000 on windows 2000 regular server ( NOT sbs) working properly which everyone receives email through outlook 2000 using ms exchange server (smtp). We have a satellite office that are on a different domain but are connected to us through a cisco pix, so we have a tunnel. Our domain is parent.com
Our satellite office currently has its own exchange server and domain but I need to move the users to our exchange server but keep their domain. ( They have an old nt exchange (sbs) server and its dying) I understand I will need to set up their domain name child.com under our default policy email tab and have their mx record point to our exchange server. The problem I am having is setting up pop3 so they can retrieve their email from our exchange server. I can receive and send internally from their office to ours,,,,but as soon as they try to send outside like to my yahoo.com email account I get the message.
               No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient.      I can receive email from the yahoo account. What am I missing?

   I have read many articles on pop3 and this error but I did not get anywhere. I am confused about the articles saying you need a pop3 connector. I did not put that on. There are not any good articles on how to set up pop3.
